Ribbon & Chain Bracelets

I love how these ribbon and chain bracelets look! I’m not sure how I came up with them. I was working on something else and then just looked through my materials and tried to figure out how to pair things. I saw the ribbon and remembered the chain and through trial and error came up with these bracelets.

My boyfriend, Travis, really liked them, too and said I could sell them. :)

I might take him up on that. They are pretty easy to recreate and I got the hang of making a better looking bow. My favorite has to be the white ribboned bracelet.

I used the black ribbon on my first try and although I really liked it, the bow didn’t quite turn out as well. I was having trouble figuring out how to close the bracelet. Originally, I wasn’t thinking of the bow, I was planning on using a clasp of some kind.

Another bracelet I made was inspired by Donatella from the Inspiration & Realisation DIY blog. She recreated a Missoni rope necklace. I followed her tutorial but decided to make mine a bracelet since I didn’t have enough rope to make it a four-string necklace. My rope came from either an old tote bag or an old shopping bag and I had been saving the it for years.

Here is my version:

As you can see, I added a button with what looks to me like a nautical design which I think works great with this bracelet. I love the blues in the bracelet and makes me think of the beach.

What do you think?

How do you close the ribbon bracelet? If it’s with the bow then you always need someone who can tie it a-n-d make it look pretty…
    Thanks! C.

    Hi Cecilia,

The ribbon bracelets are permanently closed. The bow is sewed on so it stays pretty. :)

It goes on and comes off pretty easily, too.

    Thanks for commenting!

    Hi Elizabeth,

I may put up a few on Etsy for around $12. I’ll link it here when/if I do. They were also prettyy easy to do and didn’t take too much time to make. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour tops.

Thanks for checking out my blog. :)
